The nice thing is that if you're shooting in manual, it doesn't matter. Usually I have to shoot at -0.3 to -0.7 EV to keep the highlights from blowing out, but with the D750 I haven't really had to do that, especially with highlight-weighed metering which gives just slightly darker results than matrix metering does (depending on what you point it at). Personally I noticed that the D750 exposes correctly. Maybe you're so used to having Nikons overexpose the image, that correct exposure now looks dark in comparison. Patrick Gailer edited this topic 106 months ago. It certainly preserves the highlights, but I'm almost tempted to manually alter exposure adjustments in the cameras settings (as a permanent 'fix'). I say 'darker' as I'm not yet convinced they are underexposed (leading to noise etc) - but if any sky is in shot, I find the RAW previews/images in Bridge to be very dark indeed, compared so say my previous images with d700 / d3. OK - I've used the d750 for over a week now shooting RAW solely and using the Adobe RAW converter (short term edition!) - is it just me, or are others finding that it appears the d750 has a strong tendency to expose for highlights resulting in noticeably 'darker' images. Grant it is a space increase, but capture to tiff looks more like nikon colors then adobe trying to read nef. I been using capture nx-d and tiff-ing it to lightroom. I am sure it would have been quicker if the files were on the hard drive. Plus, I was converting over home network to my NAS. I am sure it depends on the power of your computer's processor. Then it took less than 5 mins to load into LR5. took over 25 mins using the DNG converter for me. I've never used a raw converter, I've always had cameras that LR already supported, but how long would it take to convert about 1500 raw images into LR? Great work around to get D750 NEF photos in LR5. I can concur with Mark, the DNG converter does work. You should also be able to open dng files in Photoshop once converted. The DNG convertor does work you may have to uninstall a previous version, there are also 2 separate downloads on the link page DNG is at the bottom. Come on Adobe, don't punish a long time user just because I've elected not to buy the monthly payment plan! Any users with PSE11 are still stuck with 7.04. I'll dig around and see why and post the results. The DNG Converter still doesn't recognise the D750 NEF files. Once installed use software to convert NEF flies to DNG files which can be imported into Lightroom. Adobe have released the beta versions of camera raw 8.7 and DNG convertor 8.7 both with Nikon d750 support.Īs they are beta versions there may be some glitches however they work perfectly on my system.įor Lightroom download DNG convertor 8.7.
